I think he knows what I am. I also think he knows things I don't, things about the future, and until I level the playing field it would give me peace of mind if you kept your distance. I've already warned him to do the same.

How is him knowing when he's here a bad thing? Aren't there lots of ... different types of people here?

He's from home. He's also here by himself and he's what. 15 or 16? Why would he be dangerous?

"Knowledge is power." He has the advantage and I don't know how he intends to use it. I also don't know if it matters what we are here, considering the...variety. [There's so much he doesn't know and it's getting to him in a bad way. Maybe that's why he can't sleep...]

He may very well be harmless. In fact, he claims he's willing to protect us both. But you know what the Quileute tribe thinks of my kind, my family. I need to understand why he claims to be different. Until I do... I need you to promise me, Bella. Please.

I'll be careful, but I won't promise to ignore him. That's not fair. He hasn't done anything. Maybe you can just try talking to him once you've slept. I'll go with you, and I won't see him until you're awake.

Fine. [He'll have to take what he can get at this point. Except he's just going to brood in bed until enough time has passed. Or until his mind finally reaches its breaking point and he passes out for 24...48 hours. Weeks. Years. It's a tossup.]
